Sun attack

Information

A Sun attack is a Team flight sent from a Team planet to a Sun with the purpose of defeating the Sun and gaining a Crystal needed for the construction of Obelisks and the SSG.An attack against a Sun takes 48 hours, no matter what the distance is.

Note that this time can be different in a faster universe (12 or 24 hours in 1 direction).

The time needed for Sun attack is reduced by 5% for each Obelisk the Alliance has constructed.The Gas for this type of flight is 50% from the usual consumption. A Sun has its own characteristics just like a ship.The Sun’s characteristics depend on whether there is Support on the Sun and on the size of the Support (if any).See Suns for more information.Each successful attack against a Sun has a 75% chance of giving one Crystal, for the Team planet, which has never been given to that Alliance. Attacks against Suns with 0 days life has 25% chance of giving one Crystal.

Each Sun Attack (successful or not, there has to be a Battle) decreases the life days of the Sun by 10.

Special conditions:

  • Suns can only be attacked from a Team planet;
  • An attack against a Sun takes 48 hours, no matter what the distance is(note that this time can be different in a faster universe; the time needed for Sun attack is reduced by 5% for each Obelisk the Alliance has constructed);
  • The Gas for this type of flight is 50% from the usual consumption;
  • One Team planet can attack one Sun at a time;
  • If you attack a Sun with 1 life day left and before the battle takes place, it becomes 0 days, there is still a chance for a Crystal left there; there will be a battle between the attacking Team planet and the supporters (if any);
  • The attacking fleet must be for at least 50 000 Population;
  • All players who have a Planet of their own within 5 systems of the Sun see the attack (they see only which Sun is under attack and when the attack arrives but they don't see the amount of ships or Population of the attackers);
  • Attackers can't see if there is any Support or not;
  • Players can support only Suns that are under attack;
  • Anyone can support a Sun except for the members of the attacking Alliance or other Alliances that have a policy of Military alliance with them;
  • Each Support can be at the Sun's coordinates for a maximum of 24 hours after the battle has happened or the attack was recalled;
  • If the attackers recall the attack, all Supports will turn back after 24 hours but the supporters can take their ships back by clicking on the "take back” link. The Support fleet returns for the same amount of time it took it to reach the Sun.;
  • If there is a Sun Attack and there are less than 10 hours to it, supporters can’t take their flights back;
  • The maximum Population of the all supporting ships is 226,008;
  • All Supports sent, are gathered in one fleet;
  • Each Support must be worth at least 5 000 Population;
  • Non-battle ships cannot be sent as Support (transport ships, colonizing ships, recycling ships, spy probes);
  • Levels of ship upgrades and sciences are equal to the highest levels of all supporters, no matter of the Population of the Supports.
  • Losses from the supporters' side are 50% of total losses, i.e. if you lose all your ships (100), you will receive 50 of them back (here numbers will be rounded down, i.e. you lost 99 Ships, you will receive 49 back);
  • Supporters take triple (x3) Battle points from the battle and these Battle points are being distributed among all supporters according to the Population of ships they sent;
  • Each Sun has an ability to destroy attacking ships. There is a 50% chance after each round for the Sun to erupt and destroy 3-5% of attacking Ships;
  • The Sun has a Laser weapon and 20% Light armor;
  • The Sun is fighting as a standart ship so the game randomly choses which ship to be attacked;
  • The Sun doesn't give any Scrap or Battle points. Only the destroyed ships from both sides do;
  • In the first 48 hours after the battle only the attackers and supporters can collect the Scrap field.
  • If there is Commander ship in the Supporting fleet the one with the highest level applies its ability.
  • The Admiral with the highest power applies its Stats and Skills on the defender side.
